At Akira Ramen & Izakaya, every dish is crafted with an emphasis on fresh ingredients and balanced flavors. Their ramen selection is particularly impressive, showcasing popular specialties like the fiery Akira Volcano Ramen, the rich and creamy Tonkotsu Miso Ramen, and the lighter yet deeply satisfying Vegetable Ramen. For seafood lovers, the Takoyaki (octopus balls) and the subtly spiced Miso Clams are standout choices.
Akira Ramen & Izakaya also entices with its cold soba and udon dishes—a refreshing alternative particularly in warmer months. Highlights include dishes like the Sukiyaki Gyu with sliced beef and poached egg, and the indulgent Ten Zaru, featuring shrimp and seasonal tempura vegetables alongside chilled noodles. These options showcase a delightful range in temperature and texture that elevate the dining experience.
The restaurant’s dessert menu, while succinct, delivers elegant finishes such as the Yuzu Cheesecake with Matcha Jelly, which layers citrus brightness with subtle earthiness for a memorable finale. Paired with their selection of sake or a refreshing glass of cold soba-style noodle salad, the meal concludes on an elevated note.
The atmosphere at Akira Ramen & Izakaya is warm and inviting, with an open kitchen design that allows guests to watch the skilled chefs expertly prepare each dish—a feature many patrons appreciate. The staff offers attentive and knowledgeable service, often making personalized recommendations that enhance the overall experience. One guest fondly recalled how a server’s playful soju presentation added a memorable touch to their visit, embodying the restaurant’s commitment to thoughtful hospitality.

I got the Akira Ramen and the Chashu bun. Both were objectively enjoyable. The ramen has a clean flavor and a good broth, I think I would have enjoyed another flavor more. I recommend the chashu bun. I also appreciate how close it is to open parking.
Been here a couple times and if you’re feeling soup this place doesn’t disappoint. The service is nice. There’s usually a good amount of people in the restaurant. Atmosphere is welcoming, with an open kitchen so you can see the cooks working. The broth is always on point, and the soup is fresh. It made my wife happy so everything was perfect.
One of the best ramen places in the area. They have a larger menu to include different noodle dishes, appetizers, and sushi. The ramen was delicious. The sushi was also good, but the California roll didn’t have cucumber which was odd. Glad to have found another ramen place that serves delicious food. The kids love it too!
If I could give them more than five stars in every category, I would! The food, atmosphere, and service was incredible. Everything was fast, fresh, and beyond delicious. Our server gave us incredible recommendations. I was really amused when he swished my bottle of soju around to create a little tornado inside! There were just so many little touches like that which made the whole experience so much fun. I can't wait to come back.
Definitely a must try. I like this branch way better than the white marsh branch. This place can be busy but they are still able to manage their customers and the seating capacity. They offer good variety of meals. They taste good and exquisit as well. Now thinking about it. I always have great experience here vs dining in white marsh. lemme give white marsh a 2 star review haha
The food has been absolutely delicious. However, if you’re a fan of chicken or lamb, your options may be a bit limited. The soups were flavorful, and the sushi was exceptional. Be sure to ask the waiter for chicken options with your main course—they’ll be happy to assist you. The service is also fantastic.
Sushi were good. The chicken that was ordered along side the ramen were not cooked thoroughly. They have robots that brings out your order which was cool. My sushi took a little bit longer to come out but overall I enjoyed my visit.
Four of us had lunch a few weeks ago. It was our first time there. It was a very cold day, so I though Ramen would be perfect for lunch. My husband had an udon soup (with extra ear mushrooms) with a side of battered fried shrimp. I had the Tonkatsu ramen. Our friends ordered similar dishes, to include fried gyoza. The soup was good, but I've had better ramen with a richer flavor. I love soft boiled eggs and I always order an extra half. Yum. Everything else was delicious. Friendly service and a cool atmosphere. Lots of seats at the bar.
